The requirements for the quality management system in automotive industry are presented in the national standard GOST R ISO/TS 16949-2009 “Quality management systems – Particular requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2008 for automotive production and relevant service part organizations”.
The national standard GOST R ISO/TS 16949-2009 is based on national standard GOST R ISO 9001 and defines the requirements for the quality managements system in respect of design, development, manufacture and, if applicable, installation and maintenance of automotive industry products. The requirements of the standard are divided in 5 clauses:
The only exceptions allowed by the standard are related to product design and development processes.
GOST R ISO/TS 16949-2009 is applicable to any organization in the chain of production and supply of equipment and components for the automotive industry. The term “automobile” covers cars, buses, motorcycles, trucks, but excludes special purpose vehicles, such as tractors. The certification scope includes production sites where the added value is created as well as remote sites providing support services.
