From 30 March till 1 April 2021 experts of Certification Association “Russian Register” took part in the kick-off meeting for the partners of Erasmus+ project entitled Support for Innovative Methodology, Approaches and Tools for Teaching through the Medium of English in order to improve Educational Yield, Sustainability and Internationalization (SMARTI).
For the Russian partners, the face-to-face meeting was hosted by the staff of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University (Kazan), who is also the part of the consortium created to implement the project.
This is the second project within the framework of the project Erasmus+ financed by the EU grant in which Russian Register is a partner. The novelty of the project from the standpoint of quality management is determined by the fact that the quality guarantees of the project and its results when piloting educational modules within degree programs are provided by two quality assurance organizations:
From the side of Russian Register the meeting was attended by Alexandra Zvezdova, Head of the Department for Assessing the Quality of Education, and Victoria Baeva, Specialist of the Department for International Activities. European partners and partners from Armenia participated online due to the restrictions imposed by the spread of COVID-19.
In accordance with the program of the event, each partner presented their organization, then discussions were held on the project work packages. The responsibility for quality issues was shared by the above agencies and Riga Technical University. Much attention at the meeting was paid to project management, financial management and reporting issues.
The realization of industrial investment projects is related to dealing with many problems. Informing suppliers of the need to submit technical documentation in full compliance with the requirements of Russian standards, obtaining certificates and declarations of conformity, pattern approval certificates for measuring instruments, certificate of calibration and inspection of incoming equipment and materials is an incomplete list of what general contractor (EPC contractor) should complete and check.
